Story

To my crazy challenge - 960 miles in 9 days from Lands End to John O'Groats, the bottom to the top, all in aid of Macmillan Cancer Charity.

We are aiming to raise £10,000 between us - and every penny is going to the charity. All costs associated with the ride are coming out of our own pockets.

There are four of us (and counting), some would say like minded fools - I shal lbe joined by John Kelly, James Rowntree and Peter Butler, thrown together because we like a challenge, you can join us too, even if it is to visit our site www.lejog2012.co.uk and see how the training is going and offer words of support.

Personaly my motivation to do this ride is two pronged, firstly having completed a London-Paris 350 mile ride last year I was really bitten by the cycling bug, but more importantly like many others I have been touched by those who have been lost to, and battled cancer, so what better thing to do than put myself through 9 days of minor pain for such a great cause.

My preparation for events such as this tends to be more a case of hitting the shops that the hills, so I’m often accused of having ‘All the gear and no idea’ so no doubt I’ll be the chap lagging several miles behind the much fitter ‘old boys’ but will try and keep up!'
