Walk on the Wild Side - fundraising to protect threatened lions

William Travers is raising money for Born Free Foundation

Participants: Lions need your help. Born Free needs your help. I need your help! It's Born Free's Year of the Lion, in memory of my late Dad, Bill, who would've been 100 this year. We must step up and save wild lions and the wild places they rely on. If not now - when?

Walk on the Wild Side - Born Free Forever Bristol · 4 July 2022 ·

There are just 20,000 lions left in the wild - 90% lost in just 55 years. We are challenging supporters to walk 20,000 steps, one for each lion, and raise sponsorship to save lions from disappearing from their current range.

Story

There are just 20,000 lions left in the wild!! That's a 90% decline in just 55 years. There is a real and imminent threat they could disappear from much of their current range. Will we be the generation that sees the King of the Animals fade away? NOT ON OUR WATCH! There is hope. Born Free is on the frontline fighting for their survival. But we must do more. So, I am doing my bit! On Wednesday the 10th August (World Lion Day) I will be walking 20,000 steps, one step for each wild lion left in its natural habitat. I would love you to walk for lions too (it's easy to set up a JustGiving page like me) but if that's not possible, please join my Pride and consider sponsoring me. And please spread the word to your networks. My target is £2,500, that's just 1 pound for every wild lion left in Kenya - of course, I want to smash that - more would be amazing! Let's ROAR for lions and help protect them for future generations. Thank you so much. Every penny counts! Will
