Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
On the 23rd of August 2017 I was involved in a potentially fatal road traffic accident. I was quickly transported to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Govan by Air Ambulance. The paramedics at the scene performed life saving treatment as I've been told by the first police officer on the scene that he didn't expect me to survive the trip to the helicopter never mind the hospital. The first night that I was at the hospital, my loved ones were told that I was not going to make it which must have been devastating to hear. Miraculously I managed to pull through due to the fantastic care given to me by the Queen Elizabeth hospital doctors and nurses. The road traffic accident left me with a triple fractured jaw, missing and broken teeth, an arm broken in three places, nerve damage, broken shoulder, broken ribs which lead to my lungs collapsing, a fractured tibia, double fractured ankle and fractured patella. I was in a coma for over a week, was breathing through a trach tube after surgeons had performed a tracheostomy which involves cutting a hole from the neck into the trachea and had my jaw wired shut which meant that I couldn't talk to my loved ones when I woke up from my coma. I've had to teach myself to walk again and signed up for this 10k when I was still in a wheelchair. The reason why I'm raising money for the Air Ambulance Charity is that I'm fully aware of the life saving assistance that they provide and hopefully the money that I raise will help give someone else another chance of life like what has happened to me.
