Story
My name is William. I'm 7 years old and I have a condition called PMD (Pelizaeus-Merzbacher disease) which means I can't walk, stand, or sit up. I get so much support from the NHS but in other countries, children like me who are born with severe disabilities are not so fortunate. In some places we are actually hidden away from the world.
Saint Peter's Lifeline goes out into communities in Kenya to seek out disabled children and to freely give them the medical support they need. They support families and help them to bring their children out into the communities to give those special children a chance to see a world and to live a life they may have missed out on.
This August I'm going to "run" 20km with my Mummy and my Daddy helping me in my special wheelchair to help children like me with no-one to help them.
My Daddy has known David Baldwin (Royal Marine Major, retired, MBE) who founded Saint Peter's Lifeline for 20 years. He trusts him and knows that every penny that goes to the charity is used to support the communities they serve out in Kenya.
You can see some of the amazing work Saint Peter's Lifeline is doing (particularly their "The Hidden Ones" programme with disabled children) here: https://www.stpeterslifeline.org.uk/the-hidden-ones
