My promise to you is simple; for every £10 that you give I will personally hand-deliver a ball directly to a girl or boy in some of the poorest parts of West Africa.

nb. ALL money raised goes directly to funding the balls and getting them to the kids (I will be covering all of my own costs e.g. flights, accommodation, subsistence, insurance and unfortunately.... jabs!!)

What does the Great Football Giveaway do?

It's simple. We buy footballs with donations from you, our amazing supporters, and give them directly to children living in some of the poorest rural areas of Africa. In the last few years our volunteers have hand-delivered over 20,000 footballs and netballs directly to kids in some of the most impoverished parts of Uganda, Angola, Zambia, Rwanda, Malawi and Tanzania. 

You might think 'surely people are in greater need for basic amenities?' or 'what is a football gonna do?'. But the smile of a child is priceless. The footballs you give bring sheer joy and happiness both to the individual and the community as a whole. Football as a sport unites Africa and our footballs have brought communities together to form the essential bonds for living. With your footballs, attendance rates in schools shoot up as kids begin to flock into the classrooms with the knowledge that they can play with a shiny new ball at lunch or after school. We all know education is key to development.

What am I up to?

So on the 10th of November, me and big Duncs (my Dad) will be heading out to Sierra Leone to deliver 1,000+ of your footballs to kids, schools and orphanages around the country for 2 weeks.

This will be my 1st project with the charity,  but as with previous projects we will be going completely off the tourist trail in a 4x4 driven by a local guide who best knows the land and area to reach some of the most rural and poorest parts of the country. For the most part we'll be giving the balls out in a completely random fashion, pulling up to schools, orphanages and villages that we stumble across on the way! There's no bias or discrimination here! If you're in our way you're bound to get a ball!

With a single donation of just £10, you will have bought a brand new shiny ball for a child in Sierra Leone. I will deliver that ball directly into the hands (or feet!) of one VERY happy kid who will have hours and hours and years of endless fun!
