Story
Starting on Tuesday 12 July, Paul and I will be cycling from Land's End in Cornwall to John o'Groats in Scotland. The journey will take us 9 days and we will cover over 900 miles to reach our destination. We are raising money for Man & Boy and we hope that you will be able support us in our challenge by donating to the charity.
Man&Boy is a charity that supports boys aged 9-12 who are struggling at school or at home by running camps, courses, and activities that involve a significant adult male role model in the family unit (father, step-father, grandfather, uncle etc.) and these activities challenge and encourage the pair to build their bond whilst doing things that take them out of their comfort zone!
I have seen through volunteering for M&B over the last 8 years that the quality time and bonding that occurs between the man and boy involved together in these activities can raise self-esteem, increase wellbeing and deepen relationships which further enables boys to reach their potential and for families to build resilience whilst creating lifelong memories together.
The money donated will go directly towards providing opportunities for families to be involved in the Man&Boy program. These activities are free for referrers to refer and it's also free for families to enable people of all backgrounds and means to access this vital program.
We receive our funding from national and local grant funders but also importantly from personal supporters and sponsors whose support through regular monthly giving and one-off donations is vital. If you'd be able to support us regularly or through donating to this challenge event, that would be so helpful! Every donation makes a difference to the life of a family who will grow together through their involvement in this program.
