Winchester College - The Lamdon Jamyang School, Khaltse, India · 14 August 2017

Lotus Flower Trust funds the building of Schools, Homes and Skills Centres for destitute children and those with Special Needs in rural areas of India. Working with local labourers and materials, we bring education and dignity to some of the poorest children in the world, changing lives forever.

Story

During August 2017, 24 boys and 3 members of staff will return to the Lamdon Jamyang School in Khaltse, Ladakh to complete the School's two year project to build a residential accommodation block within the grounds of the School. Many of the children attending the school have to walk great distances from remote mountain dwelling to gain an education. The accommodation will ensure that they have better access to education, allowing them opportunities that they would otherwise be denied. The team will fundraise the money for the second phase of the construction (phase 1 was completed by a team in 2016), and after a period of manual labour at the School, will then trek in the surrounding high Himalayas.
