Fundraising for Mind
Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
So many charities have taken a huge drop this year due to the large amount of cancelled sporting events. So I decided to create a challenge worthy of asking for donations and that is possible to do during September.
The charity Mind supports mental health issues in the UK of which I think we all know of someone personally effected if not ourselves.
It’s a humbling experience to be able to raise funds to help people that feel there is no future. And hopefully with your help we will save at least one life. If we do....it has to be worth it.
The triathlon starts in the cold waters of lake Windermere at the southern tip, from there I’ll be swimming the full 10.5 mile length of the lake to the northern point.
The route then takes to the bike and 280 miles of road over the Northern Hills and Scottish mountains with a climb of around 13,000ft to the base of Ben Nevis.
The trail shoes then go on as the run section scales the 10.5 mile, 4,411ft to the summit and back of Ben Nevis to the end of the 300 mile triathlon.
My dear friends from last years EBC challenge Brett, Colin and Graham are acting as legally required safety on the swim and a support crew for the rest of the effort and to them I’m truly thankful because without them this wouldn’t be at all possible.
