Our dedicated team of staff and volunteers at Bristol Dogs & Cats Home do everything in their power to give the animals in our care the best life they can during their stay with us. However, at the end of the day we are a rescue centre and kennels or a cattery are not the ideal, loving homes these unwanted animals deserve. But this winter you can help us keep the cold winter at bay by giving them just a few of the basic home comforts they so desperately need.
The Winter Warmer Appeal runs until the end of January and its aim is to provide enough tinned food, blankets and money for heating costs, to help sustain the hundreds of unwanted animals that will find themselves homeless and in our care during the cold winter season.
With nearly 200 hungry mouths to feed and any one time, our annual food bill would total a staggering £45,893 without this appeal. On top of that, the Dogs Home is always in desperate need of blankets to provide our cats and dogs with a warm bed to snuggle up in. We would like to urge all animal lovers to donate what they can towards our Winter Warmer Appeal, whether a tin of food, blanket or a monetary donation towards our heating costs, and help make a real difference this festive season.
You can make a donation by dropping a tin of food into your weekly shopping basket and then leaving it at one of our many collection points around Bristol. Alternatively, if you can make a financial contribution towards the appeal it would not only contribute to our massive heating bills but also would also allow us to buy food from our suppliers at a discounted price.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer.
