Iain & Sam Ride the C2C (sea to sea) · 16 July 2021

We are a charity run pre-school based in Wistow, near Selby. We care for children from 2 years old up to school age. Our current target for fundraising in 2020 is £16,000. This is for vital equipment, resources and updating furniture.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Sam Wood and Iain McLean (the Chair of our Committee) are attempting to ride the 134 mile C2C cycle route from Whitehaven in Cumbria to Sunderland in the North East to try and raise funds for Wistow Smart Start. The route will see them travel over the hills of both the Lake District and the Pennines (although as the only hills in Selby are railway bridges it will feel like the Alps and the Pyrenees) as they make their way across the country.

Smart Start is a charitable pre-school recently rated Good by Ofsted. Like a lot of other charities, Smart Start has suffered financially during the Covid-19 pandemic as their ability to do their usual fund raising activities has been put on hold due to the restrictions we have been under. We have aimed to deliver the same service to our children with reduced funds which has caused us some financial challenges through the year. The staff and the children have been fantastic throughout the pandemic and this is our way of showing our support.

Every donation, no matter how small is gratefully received.
