Our current pandemic, COVID-19, has affected so many of us in different ways. It can be a difficult testing time for everyone and has put extra pressure on our hospitals.
Our mission is to do our part, like Captain Tom, to support & help our NHS to provide their expertise and essential care to all patients.
Witney Hockey Club have set our players and clubs members a challenge to run/cycle/walk the distance the following routes during our daily exercise.
Challenge 1: Lands End to John O'Groats
Challenge 2: Route 66
Land's End to John O'Groats is the traversal of the whole length of the island of Great Britain between two extremities, in the southwest and northeast. The traditional distance by road is 874 miles (1,407 km).
U.S. Route 66 runs from east to west across the central part of the state of New Mexico, along the path now taken by Interstate 40. The current length of Route 66 is 2,278 miles (3,665km)
That is a total of 3,152 miles (5,072km)!!!
Whether it is a personal best run or our first bike ride even a family walk through our beautiful countryside. You name it, we will be doing it safely.
