Hi anyone who is supporting me or just wishing me well;
If i'm honest when I first took on this challenge it was all about beating the bet that Rob Bignell set me (see below). However, after visiting the RAPT unit, and seeing the positive impact that this charity and it's staff have on the women enrolled, I must say I am really proud to be to be running and raising money on their behalf. Between Rob and I we will hit the target off £3000 so please don't think you are paying for my run, but If you can afford it, I urge you to support me, and more importantly them, by giving even a small donation. I'm sure there will be those of you who question why this 'challanging' cause should recieve a donation above the various childrens charity's and critical illness charities. In truth every charity is worthy and RAPT is no more worthy than any other, it does however struggle when compared to some of the more accetable charities and therefore it is even harder to pursade people to donate. When I sat in on some of the group sessions I was struck how in so many of the cases the women had never really had a chance in life, and how RAPT was helping to empower the ladies to take control of their lives and pasts. Of course the true marvel is the women themselves who find the strength to start again. Is every fresh start fullfilled? Of course not. The statistic that stuck in my mind however was that 80% of the women that go through the RAPT programe never end up in prison again. Thats now why I am running and that's why, even when I beat Rob, I'll be donating. Please give if you can.
Cheers

My target is to beat 4:15 as my good friend Rob Bignell has promised to give the charity £1K per minute that I beat it (capped at £5k).........I have to give them the same for every minute that I am over 4:15 (also capped at £5K!). If you can't donate please come down and shout encrougement and help stop Rob rugby tackling me at mile 23!
Rob and I ran the New York Marthon together last Novemeber where my time was 4:29...........so the pressure is on!
