On Saturday 12^th September Revd Helen Blaine will be cycling (yes - you heard it right) around the four churches of the Winkleigh Mission Community and the four churches of the Dolton, Dowland, Iddesleigh and Monkokehampton. This is to raise money for the Devon Historic Churches Trust as part of their annual Ride and Stride event. Churches within the Winkleigh Mission Community have benefitted in the past from grants from the DHCT and their aim is to help parishes maintain their beautiful ancient buildings. The bonus part of this is that the Winkleigh Mission Community will get back half of any money raised, which will then be divided up amongst the four parishes.

The less bonus part of this is that Helen has to cycle 25miles, having only learned to ride a bike properly during lockdown! This is therefore more of a challenge than it might at first seem. She will however be able assisted by Alastair - chief coach, instructor, first-aider (has been needed already) and very, very keen cyclist.
