Story
The West Midlands Teacher Network is a group which aims to support new and existing teachers in the West Midlands. The COVID-19 pandemic has affected every single person in the country. We've all had to learn how to do things differently and to live without some of the things that brought us happiness. It has been especially difficult for children and teachers who have had to learn new ways of learning. There are over 350 trainee teachers in the West Midlands who are training with Teach First in these unprecedented times.
As a group of teachers we are passionate about the young people we work with and have been inspired by the campaigning of Marcus Rashford. We believe that no one in the UK should go hungry, especially children. This is why we have decided to host a challenge this February to raise money for an amazing charity but to get people outside exercising and feeling the benefits.
To take part in this challenge we are asking you to set yourself an ambitious challenge that you will aim to complete over the course of February. That activity could be walking, jogging, running or even skipping! The only caveat is that it must be completed outside. There are so many benefits to going outside and we want you all to take advantage of them this month. We ask that you either donate some money to take part in this challenge or feel free to get people to sponsor you.
Run or walk a total of 100km, cycle the equivalent of LDN to MCR, Complete a 10km run or 2, skip for 30 mins every day or just walk everyday in the month of February. You choose!
