Wokingham Half Marathon · 23 January 2020

Dementia UK is the specialist dementia nurse charity. Our nurses, called Admiral Nurses – who we continually support and develop – provide life-changing care for families affected by all forms of dementia, including Alzheimer’s disease.

Story

As we all know Dementia affects so many people, many including our loved ones. The number of people with Dementia in the UK is predicted to increase to over 1 million next year. From working with patients with dementia as well as my late Nan suffering with the disease it has really opened my eyes to how devastating the effects can progress into. Our aim is to raise as much money as possible to help support families dealing with Dementia in their lives. We will be running the Wokingham half marathon in Nintendo fancy dress (Mario, Luigi, Peach and Toad) just to be funny and make it more challenging.

Race Day is the 23rd of February. Don't worry.. before and after photos will be shared for laughs.

Dementia UK provides specialist dementia support for families through our Admiral Nurses. When things get challenging, our nurses work alongside families, giving them the support and practical solutions they need to face dementia with more confidence.
