Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
On the 3rd September we will all be taking part in the 10km, obstacle-filled 'Wolf Run'. To make matters worse we will be running through mud, wading through rivers and climbing obstacles all as the Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers!
We have set up this page as we will be running on behalf of The MS Society and we would love any donations you can give!
Multiple Sclerosis, or MS, is a long-lasting disease which affects your brain, spinal cord, and optic nerves in your eyes. It causes problems with vision, walking, balance, muscle control, and other basic body functions. MS happens when your immune system attacks a fatty material called myelin, which wraps around your nerve fibres to protect them. Without this outer shell, your nerves become exposed, meaning the brain cannot send and receive signals properly, leaving some unable to walk properly and others unable to carry out basic bodily functions.
We have chosen to run for The MS Society as several of us have close relatives who have been affected by or recently diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. We would love to raise some money to help support the MS Society as their research has assisted the development of new therapies and treatments which have transformed people's lives. Stem cell treatments have been making huge differences as they are enabling some of the worst sufferers to regain the ability to walk as well as helping to reduce the symptoms earlier and prevent long term damage to the nervous system. Patients are slowly being short-listed for these new treatments but as it is an expensive process. This can only be achieved with donations and fundraising events. Over 100,000 people are affected by MS in the UK and we would love to say that we have helped families across the country.
Any donation, no matter how small, will be appreciated and put towards a good cause - thank you!
