Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
We are the friends, family and loved ones of Thomas Weaver. We are participating in the 'Autumn Wolf Run 2022' which is a 10k wild run throughout the woods, over obstacles, through lakes and fields, to raise money and awareness for the MAAC (Midlands Air Ambulance Charity).
On the 18th November 2021, Thomas Weaver sadly lost his life on the way to work in a car accident. His brother Joshua Weaver was also involved in the accident, riding in the passenger seat as Toms apprentice. Joshua was placed into a coma.
Thanks to the amazing work at hands of the Midlands Air Ambulance, Joshua was airlifted to hospital, where he received critical care and has came to make a great recovery (that great that he is participating in this event!). Without the quick response of the Midlands Air Ambulance, Josh's story could of been a very different one.
The Midlands Air Ambulance Charity is responsible for funding and operating three air ambulance helicopters and two critical care cars serving the communities of six Midlands counties: Gloucestershire, Herefordshire, Shropshire, Staffordshire, the West Midlands and Worcestershire. This constitutes the largest air ambulance operating region in the UK. The charity also provides secondary cover to surrounding areas, such as Warwickshire and Mid Wales.
Since 1991, the charity has responded to more than 66,000 missions, making it one of the longest established and busiest air ambulance organisations in the UK.
Each year it costs in excess of £10 million to maintain the three aircraft and the provision of a lifesaving service. Each air ambulance mission costs an average of £2,950. Each critical care car mission costs £288 on average. The charity does not receive funding from the Government for its daily missions so relies entirely on the support and generosity of local people and businesses.
Everyone who had the pleasure of knowing Tom knew how loving, funny and kind hearted he was. He was the life of the party, the reliable friend, the hard worker and much more. He was a much loved Son, Brother and boyfriend.. as well as a friend to many.
Any donations, no matter how big or small are greatly appreciated.
It was a gift to have known Tom, he asked for so little, but gave so very much.
