Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

Hearing Dogs for the Deaf are our chosen charity for 2019.  By the end of the year our aim is to have raised £1000 for them.  A team from Woodcroft Vets will be taking part in the Stockport 10km on Sunday 15th September.  We hope to raise £500 in sponsorship for this event - please help us!

Hearing Dogs train dogs to alert deaf people to important and life-saving sounds they would otherwise miss –  sounds that many people take for granted like the doorbell, alarm clock and even danger signals like the fire alarm.  A hearing dog can also give a deaf person a newfound sense of independence and confidence now they have a loyal companion and a true friend by their side.

Hearing Dogs have matched thousands of their adorable dogs with deaf people. At the moment, they have almost 1,000 working hearing dog partnerships across the UK.

The cost to train and support each hearing dog throughout their lifetime is £40,000 – so they rely heavily on their amazing supporters to help change lives. It really is all down to people like you, who give up timeeffort and money to help them create many life-changing partnerships. But there are still so many deaf people whom they can help.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity. So it's the most efficient way to donate - saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
