Worcester Wildlife Weekend · 31 October 2020

We're working for nature's recovery across Birmingham, Dudley, Sandwell, Walsall and Wolverhampton. We restore, protect and create wild spaces for the benefit of people and wildlife.

Story

Sam and I are going to Worcester! Not exactly an Instagram worthy boast, but we are going to walk there - yes, 40 kilometers in ONE DAY! In aid of The Wildlife Trust's 40th birthday, we aim to raise 250GBP to help the Wildlife Trust survey a planned development site for special wildlife in or around our beautiful home of Birmingham.

If you like the sound of it, we would love your support with donations, any amount is welcome. We will be keeping you updated as we roll towards our big walk date on the 31st October. We hope to do our bit to help biodiversity and, in turn, halt catastrophic climate change.

Wildlife is in trouble. 56% of UK species are in decline, globally we are in the midst of the largest extinction event since the dinosaurs. In the UK wildflower meadows have been nearly wiped out with just 3% of those we had in the 1930s remaining & hedgehog numbers are down from 30 million in the 1950s to 1 million. For 40 years we have been protecting wildlife, restoring wild spaces & inspiring people for nature’s recovery, we need your help to fight climate change and rapid development. Together, we CAN reverse local wildlife decline.
