Story
After swimming 21 miles in 12 hours in my endless pool during the UK lockdown I've now decided to go for the double and try and set a New World record Endless Pool Swim in a wetsuit.
I was over the moon to raise £5300 for NHS charities together so this time I would like to raise money for Velindre Cancer Care.
We all know of family, friends and loved ones who have been touched by this illness; Nearly 20,000 people are diagnosed with cancer in Wales each year. Velindre do an amazing job giving care, support and treatment to our loved ones so on the 11th June 2021 I will attempt to swim for over 24 hours at All Swim LTD Cardiff to raise as much money as possible for this amazing charity.
Official World Records have allocated me a Judge for my event and I will have to follow some very strict rules to be able to set a new world record swim.
- I will only be allowed to touch the bottom of the pool during food, drink or massage breaks
- I will only be allowed to get out of the pool During feed / drink / toilet / massage breaks (5 mins every half hour / 15 mins every 12)
- I will have a safety team with me for the whole swim for Heath & Safety
- there will be an official ‘Total Swim Time’ clock & a ‘total rest time’ clock on display for the whole event
- The swim will be live on YouTube
