Every 5 minutes, someone dies from heart diseases in the UK. We need to tackle this problem head on, and we need to start today. Your donations will fund lifesaving medical research to find new treatments and cures. We need your help, until there are no more deaths from heart diseases.

Story

3 days to go!!!! Training in the main went really well, 21 miles being my longest run in under 3 hours. During the taper my knee has been playing up so I’ve had to almost completely rest it and spent a small fortune on physio to try and help it. Literally anything could happen on the day, I could run well or my knee could be in agony! Either way, I’m going to try and enjoy the day and soak it all in - it’s been a long time coming! Thank you for all your generous donations, never thought I’d raise this much. Much love! X

***UPDATE - Training done!!! Long run complete and now tapering and looking after myself as best as I can to start the race in the best possible way. Been a long and tough journey but I can’t do any more now! Bring on the pasta!!! Thank you for all your donations - it means a lot!!! X

March 2024…. After making the tough decision to defer my place last year due to injury, training this year is going to plan! In fact, I am looking fitter than I was at this point last year!! It has been a slog to do the training that I already did last year, but I venture into uncharted territory from this week!! Excited / nervous as I know how tough it is going to be. Every donation gives me motivation so thank you!!!!***

October 2022 post……

After applying to run this every year since I was 18, I finally got in!! I was starting to think the world didn’t want me to run this race…. But perhaps everything happens for a reason!! The day after I received the ballot result my dad was taken into hospital for some breathing difficulties (he is back at home now!!). We had no idea of the cause and thought it was just an infection but the Doctors identified that dad had actually had a ‘silent’ heart attack. This was obviously a very scary time for him and our family, but following numerous tests, surgery, and a few weeks holiday in Southend Hospital he is back at home and on the mend.

From talking to other people, I have learnt just how common heart problems are and what other people and families are going through, often quietly. So please help me raise some money for Heart Research UK so other people can benefit from the great treatment like we did.

Honestly, every donation will be hugely appreciated and will keep me motivated to drag my arse around 26.2 miles!!
