24 Hour Row · 16 January 2023
*Due to an injury, the date for this event has been postponed to 1300, 9th - 10th of February 2023*
I plan on completing a 24-hour row for the charity, Doctors Without Borders. I will also be completing the entire row outdoors; this is in an attempt to understand the harsh weather that displaced persons are subjected to in a humanitarian crisis, exemplified through the ongoing situation in Ukraine, where MSF has a critical presence.
I would like to say that any donations to this cause will not only be greatly appreciated in motivating my ability to make a difference in my work through this expereince, but will also aid Médecins Sans Frontières, supporting them in having a lasting impact in providing medical assistance to humanitarian emergencies across the globe.
Finally, My inspiration for this charity event has come from a number of influences, stemming back to my upbringing in the middle-east and being neighboured by a number of ongoing humanitarian crises. From there, I have furthered this into postgraduate study in Global Health at St. Georges University. By doing this, I have gained an in-depth understanding of the work that MSF or 'Doctors Without Borders' do, and the incredible difference they make on a global scale.
