Warmworks Fundraising Challenges for Trussell Food Banks

Warmworks Scotland is raising money for Trussell

Warmworks Fundraising Challenges for the Trussell Trust · 8 June 2020

We’re an anti-poverty charity & community of food banks, working together to ensure no one in the UK needs a food bank, while providing practical support for people left without enough money. (Please note we're unable to forward funds onto individual food banks, funds raised here go to Trussell)

Story

Warmworks continue to support our charity of choice - Trussell - for the 6th year in a row, and their vital work for local Food Banks supporting the most vulnerable communities across Scotland and the UK.

Building on our various team and personal challenges over the last 6 years, this year we are planning to do walks, runs, business fives and more. As well as our annual foodbank collection and other charity fundraisers.

Close to 3 million emergency food parcels were distributed by food banks in Trussell network in the past 12 months — the most parcels ever distributed by the network in a year.

Food banks in the Trussell network saw the highest ever levels of need, even more than during the peak of the pandemic, as more people found their incomes did not cover the cost of essentials like heating and food. Between April 2023 and March 2024, the number of people that used a food bank for the first time was 655,000, with the overall number of food parcels being twice the number provided 5 years ago.

We're proud to be standing alongside Trussell, food banks, and people in financial crisis once again this year.

Your support will help food banks support people in crisis now and as the situation changes.
