Story

Hi Everyone,

'Wyke College runs a Marathon.'

On the 8th of May- 32 members of Wyke's staff will be running the equivalent of 4 'virtual marathons' to raise money our National Health Service during these times of national crisis.

The day will work like this-

  • Staff members will be divided up into 4 teams (each team to run 42k marathon distance).
  • The first runners will start running at 9:30am ( runners can complete the run outside as part of their daily exercise,  on treadmills - or in some cases mapped out distances in the back garden) As soon as they finish their leg, they will contact the next runner in their team to start their run- and so on.
  • All runners will run 5k, apart from the last runner in each team who will run 7k, these will all be logged on some kind of tracking device.
  • It is a relay event, run in real time. Each team will have a finishing time to be logged by the last runner.
  • Each runner will also film the start and the end of their run- this will all be put together once our marathons are complete.

Please donate anything you can to support us in supporting our NHS. They're doing an amazing job on the front line and doing everything they can to keep us and our loved ones safe!

Thanks,

Larysa, Andrea and Katy- on behalf of all Wyke Staff.
