Trek 4 Yemen · 18 July 2020
Over 24 million people are in need of urgent humanitarian aid in the war-torn country of Yemen. That’s over 80% of the population, with 9.9 million of those suffering being children. Families face the threat of ongoing armed conflict, displacement, disease and a crumbling economy.
Yemen is currently officially experiencing the world’s largest man-induced food security crisis. Families and communities have been torn apart and left without even the most basic of living necessities, with 19.7 million people needing basic healthcare, 18 million people in need of water and sanitation facilities and over 3 million people having been displaced by the country’s ongoing and bloody, 4 year-long civil war.
Islamic Relief is on the ground in 17 of the country’s 22 Governorates, providing essential food aid to families at risk of famine and facing extensive food shortages. With your support we can help these communities in their hour of need.
We must unite to help those who cannot help themselves. Ladies and gentlemen, brothers and sisters, OUR brothers and sisters need us, now more than ever.
Please donate what you can in order that we, in the safety and comfort of our warm and cosy homes in a nation of prosperity, can look to better the lives of those who aren’t so fortunate as us.
