On July 5th, I’ll be taking on the 15km Tough Mudder Challenge alongside a group of brothers so we can raise funds to help the people of Sudan.

Even before the outbreak of war in April 2023, over 15 million Sudanese people were in desperate need of humanitarian aid. Since then, this figure has more than doubled, with over 30 million people in need of aid

In the past 2 years, over 7.4 million Sudanese people have been displaced, with Families forced to flee their homes in the face of the unspeakable acts of violence.

Some seek refuge with relatives, others in overcrowded camps and others have fled the country altogether, where conditions are often harsh.

Children as we speak are dying from hunger, with Islamic Relief staff witnessing a heartbreaking rise in the number of severely malnourished children in the health and nutrition centres it supports.

Over 3.7 million children are malnourished, and entire families are surviving on just a few mouthfuls of sorghum (a type of grain) a day.

The humanitarian situation is dire, and families are struggling to meet even their most basic needs.

We as Muslims must rally to the sound of our brothers and sisters crying for help and offer assistance in whatever way we can. So I am taking part in this event to raise awareness and funds for those suffering amidst the crisis in Sudan.

My target is to raise £300, which will provide 3 displaced families with shelter in sha Allah

But here is some information to give you more of an idea about how your donation will help,

- A donation of £23 will feed a family for a week

- £100 will shelter one displaced family

- £75 will provide a family with daily essentials

- £90 will provide a family with a months worth of food packs
