Campaign by First Light (RCN 1090457)
Raise £100 or more in 100 days between 25 August and 2 December 2018 to help support people affected by domestic abuse and sexual violence in Cornwall and Devon.

Story

I have just started secondary school and my mum, grandma and auntie all want to encourage me to read more. I am not a great reader so we are all going to read 10 books in 100 days - one every 10 days!!

Please support me to do this challenge - just £1 per book from 10 people would be £100 😊 The more encouragement I get, the more I have to do it!!!

I"m doing this as part of 100 days, 100 ways, which raises money for people who have been affected by abuse. This is often women and children, and 100 days, 100 ways is inspired by 2018 being 100 years since women got the vote in the UK. All the books on my list are written by women too, within the last 100 years. Here's the list:

  1. The Goldfish Boy by Lisa Thompson (2017)
  2. The Island at the End of Everything by Kiran Millwood Hargrave (2017)
  3. Wonder by R J Palacio (2012)
  4. The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins (2008)
  5. Tug of War by Catherine Forde (2007)
  6. The Garbage King by Elizabeth Laird (2003)
  7. Pig Heart Boy by Malorie Blackman (1997)
  8. Wolf by Gillian Cross (1990)
  9. A Wrinkle in Time by Madeleine L’Engle (1962)
  10. The Wolves of Willoughby Chase by Joan Aiken (1962)
All of the books were picked from the suggested reading list for year 7 pupils / Age 11-12: https://schoolreadinglist.co.uk/reading-lists-for-ks3-pupils/suggested-reading-list-for-year-7-pupils-ks2-age-11-12/
