Kings & Queens Xmas Cracker · 11 December 2020

Throughout December we are asking you to dig deep into your pockets, or organise a fundraiser, and help us raise £5,000 to support our patients and their relatives in hospital during this particularly difficult time.

Story

To help raise money for King George & Queen’s Hospital local businesses including Romford’s Mercury and Liberty Shopping Centres have teamed up for a night of fun and fundraising. Using the power of social media, in this case Facebook, a massive 3 hour event will take place featuring dozens of faces from the local community.

Starting at 7pm on Friday 11th December and showing via Mercury Mall, and Liberty Shopping Centre's Facebook pages presenters will guide viewers through a series of fun auctions and competitions that include tests of both agility and ability. Those watching will be able to pledge donations for on screen individuals to carry out tasks, including special shout outs by the big man himself, Santa, from his Grotto tucked away in the Mercury. As the night progresses some of the staff from King George and Queen’s Hospitals will update the audience on the total raised. In addition various singers will perform throughout the night classic Christmas carols, a tattoo will progress over the course of the night with a design selected randomly by a wheel of fortune; while Mercury Security Supervisor Phil Rust will complete an incredibly hideous series of tasks as various targets are met.

Join your community as we work together to raise money that will make our hospitals even better which could benefit us all at some point during our lives.
