Yala Fund started working in the area around Yala National Park in Sri Lanka in the aftermath of the 2004 Tsunami. Over two decades we have raised more than £1m for Tsunami survivors, schools, hospitals and poor families. A current focus is on medical and income support for poor elderly Sri Lankans.

Story

We've seen countless examples of extremely poor parents making huge sacrifices to help their children on their way to becoming doctors, lawyers, engineers and other professionals. We award monthly bursaries of £25 to help with the costs of education. The more money we take in the more students we can help towards a brighter future.
