Story
On Saturday 12th of March a team from YDL will be competing in the Martin House accumulator challenge. Our team will be looking to complete the challenging Yorkshire 3 peaks. Setting out in the early hours of Saturday morning the team will attempt to cross the summit of all 3 peaks and complete a 24 mile walk in under 12 hours.
As a collective at YDL we support numerous charities, one of which is Martin House Children's Hospice, for which we have their logo proudly displayed on one of our wagons.
A member within Team 'Yankee Darcy Lima', as we will be known for this challenge, has had first hand support from Martin house after the loss of his 6 year old daughter, hence the team name including Darcy. The support they provide at such difficult times, and years to follow, is nothing less than miracle work, allowing families to create forever lasting memories.
It's noted that the cost's for running such places are around £28,000 per day... so truly every penny counts. Any donation little or large is gratefully received and goes towards helping so many.
Martin House supports children and young people with life-limiting conditions, and their families, across West, North and East Yorkshire. Our vision is that every child and young person has access to palliative care when and where they need it.
