Story

AFRICA'S HIGHEST MOUNTAIN!!!

We will be trekking up the World’s tallest free standing mountain, Mount Kilimanjaro! The summit on Mount Kilimanjaro is called Uhuru Peak and stands at 5,895m or 19,341 feet.

Our trek is in aid of Emergency Response with Penny Appeal, to help protect and save thousands of families from the devastating effects of natural disasters and conflict.

PLEASE READ OUR STORY!

Challenging myself for a number of personal reasons, the strongest being for my cousin brother. 4 years ago he suffered a sudden brain stem stroke and haemorrhage after returning home from work and was also left blinded. After several successful operations by Allah's will he survived but was left in a coma; unresponsive to family & friends, but with everyone's continuous duas he is getting better and Allah has given his sight back. Currently he is wheelchair bound, with limited movement and unable to speak. Seeing him in a coma for the first time in 2015 I couldn't handle it as I was terrible with emotions, like my heart was stone cold so I stayed away. A year went by and eventually I went to see him. He was with his family and looking much more healthier. That day something kicked in, something made me want to understand his situation and be there for his kids. When life's problems hits you, running away just makes it worse, you start eating yourself up in your own isolation. Facing difficulties and accepting your emotions are all part of life's journey. I understood with my own experience.

The Kilimanjaro trek will easily be the most challenging experience of our lives. We will truly be put through our paces both physically and mentally. I'm climbing because physically I am able, yet I've chosen to be unfit for far too long. In his condition I know he has many regrets about what he could've and should've done when he was able to. Thats why I want to dedicate money fundraised for him so that we can all get reward for good deeds. I'm doing this because health is temporary and sickness is imminent. It is also a reminder that life is temporary and anything can happen to anyone at anytime. We are blessed to have money for food and shelter, some little some more, but what we do with the money is more significant. InshaAllah I will be dedicating more time towards charity work and if you'd like to keep up please give us a follow on instagram @alhaq.vision, thank you.

Emergency response initiative is currently operating in five counties, providing life-saving aid. We have distinct areas of focus within each country, implementing projects that fit the specific needs of crisis-hit communities. We are currently working in Indonesia, Bangladesh, Gaza, Yemen, and Syria.

Please give generously so we can reach our target and more importantly help those that need us the most. Please also remember my cousin brother in your duas. Small change, BIG difference.
