The reasons for doing this two fold:

1) Mental Health is something that affects me everyday. I have been on anti-psychotic medication for the last 3 years and it has been a rocky road (not the baked good :P). After taking time off work to help deal with finding the right meds, the ups and downs of mania and depression; bipolar is a horrible thing to live with but I found that you can live with it and lead a normal(ish) life. Mind is a great charity that supports people like me throughout times of crisis, for advice on my rights as a disabled person (although I debate with myself if I am actually disabled, for another time) and hosting a forum for people to find other people to talk to about their difficulties. 

You don't need to be diagnosed with a mental illness to use Mind either. You maybe supporting someone, you maybe going through a time of anxiety or just feeling down. Mental health is something that affects everyone regardless of who you are. 

2) There have a lot of BOYS and MEN who have been shaving their hair for dares etc this last weekend. Big deal, it's socially acceptable to do so in most cultures around the world. Women MUST have long beautiful hair, they SHOULD NOT have hairy legs or armpits. The idea of having pubic hair apparently is just 'unlady-like' and 'unsexy'. And I say, SOD THAT!!! As a women, we own our bodies, we are not object of what men find appealing to sleep with. This is not a feminist movement, this is a equalist movement to put women on the same playing field as men when it comes having ownership of what we want to do with our hair and bodies alike!
