Severn Hospice was where my mum spent the last few weeks of her time with us and it quickly became a beacon of light in what was one of the darkest times of my family’s life. After all the rigorous treatment and countless hospital visits, my mum decided that she wanted to gain some much-needed respite in the hospice. From this moment on, she was welcomed with open arms, and during her stay there she spoke of how blessed she was in having such a place available to
her and felt like she was in 'heaven', how fitting. As people flooded in through the hospice doors to spend some last moments with my mum they were all welcomed with open arms. The sheer care, kindness and dedication offered by the hospice nurses and staff; who not only went above and beyond the call of duty to treat my mum like the queen she was but also never once made a single person who visited feel like a burden, we thank every single one of you.

It truly was for us, and remains to many, a sanctuary - and it runs more or less entirely off donations. I’m hoping that by doing the Three Peaks challenge with everyone in the office I can try and give back just a portion of what Severn Hospice was able to provide my family and keep the beacon lit for so many other patients, families and friends to find comfort in such difficult times. I'd be truly grateful for any donation put forwards.

Severn Hospice is with families from the moment they're referred to its care for as long as they need it, and it does this every day, all day for anyone in Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin and Mid Wales who needs that help.It does this for them for free, but it is not without cost and it can't happen without you. For every £1 you donate, the hospice will spend 88p directly on care – and use the remaining 12p to make another £1. Last year, all those individual donations meant the hospice could be there when it mattered for 3,000 local families.
