Story
My Grandad battled Esophageal Cancer for just over two years and underwent every treatment available to him, until it all became too much in August 2018. In June 2018 Grandad was due to go to Myton Hospice for a week of pain management to allow him to be more comfortable whilst staying at home, he refused! Just like most people, he perceived a hospice as a bad and not very nice place to be. In August 2018 grandads health deteriorated and he decided to not go ahead with any more scans or treatments, on September the 7th after a visit from the Shakespeare Hospice at home Nurse they decided that it was time for him to go to Myton. The staff at Myton Warwick were fantastic and as a family we felt as though a weight had been lifted off our shoulders. Grandad was in the best place and receiving the best care possible! For the duration of 18 days grandad was made comfortable and his diginity remained throughout thanks to the nurses and doctors.
. £3,000 is enough to provide a bed in the Inpatient Unit for around 7 days. I would really appreciate your donation big or small!
Thanks so much!
