Story

UPDATE (31/07) - IT'S DONE!!! No words except THANK YOU to everyone who has supported me over the last 26 days, it has been an adventure that's for sure 😂 But I DID IT and only almost cried once (!!!) This page will be open for another week so if you'd still like to donate but can't quite yet then you still have time until the 7th of Aug. If you want to donate after that, Adventure Plus have their own fundraising page you can contribute to. You can find all the info you need on their website/Facebook. I LOVE YOU ALL XXX

UPDATE (19/07) - HALF WAY THROUGH and the £500 target HAS BEEN HIT!!! Yay! With 13 more days to go we can absolutely keep flying through and raise even more until the very last day. Maybe we could hit £1000!?! Thank you for everyone's support so far! The last 2 weeks are going to be hard!

UPDATE (09/07) - WOW, 4 days in and at 60% to my target already! Hoping to keep the momentum up so we can smash the £500 target and raise looooads more funds. So keep sharing and donating people and THANK YOU for you support. 22 more days to go! 💜

Inspired by two amazing friends in June, I've decided that I'm going to participate in the 2.6 challenge for July to raise money for one of our local charities, Adventure Plus. They had just begun the exciting process of building their adventure base when Covid-19 hit and everything had to stop. As a youthwork charity that helps young people, families, schools, youth groups and employees realise potential through adventure and education, their presence in our community is so important. Even more so in the upcoming future when things have been so uncertain recently - Adventure is the therapy we all need!

So, for the last 26 days of July, I will be cycling 26 miles and running 2.6 miles on alternating days. Eek! To be honest, I have no idea what to expect or how my body and mind will react. Before lockdown, I couldn't even run 10 minutes without turning back and walking home and I've only ever cycled about 6 miles on my own! Also, as fate (or karma!?) would have it, my first cycle will begin on Monday 6th of July which is the day I go back to work... Is this what glutton for punishment means!? I am pretty excited to do this though, to push myself and see how much money we can raise while laughing at my pain and torture and consistent moaning (Sorry in advance to Cory and my family) 😝

So, please dig shallow or deep in those pockets! It's hard times for everyone but as the cogs of society slowly begin to turn again, let's remember that charities are such an important part of life, community and support for the most vulnerable and they need every bit of help they can get. More info on Adventure Plus and what they do on their website here: https://www.adventureplus.org.uk/

Lots of love! I'm nervous! Will keep you all updated with my struggles 🥳

PS - Drop any music or podcasts I should listen to while cycling. The distance will make it sooo hard to break through the mental barrier of boredom and wanting to give up!

PPS - I'm open to donor suggestions for ways I can make my journeys more fun and interesting... To an extent... 😝

Save the UK's CharitiesGeneral fundraising has been hit very hard by the COVID-19 pandemic. Thousands of fundraising events have been cancelled and many charities, particularly smaller ones, are struggling to maintain services because of this huge reduction in income. This impacts all sectors of society from children to the elderly as well as the vital work in areas such as palliative care, serious diseases, mental health, housing support, food supplies and countless others that charities support.
