Story
Thursday January 31st marks Young Carers Awareness day, an initiative that is arranged by The Quilter Foundations headline partner, Carers Trust. Activities will be taking place across our offices to raise awareness for the campaign as well as funds for the charity.
The purpose of the day is to raise awareness of the challenges faced by young people because of their caring role, and to campaign for greater support for young carers and their needs. This year the day will focus on mental health.
Young carers can often feel isolated, struggle with poor mental health and suffer with poorer education and employment outcomes in comparison to their peers. Our Young Carers Campaign aims to ensure individuals within our community are not left behind.
To mark the day The Quilter Foundation aims to raise a total of £5,000. This amount can provide tailored support to 5 young carers over the course of 1 year, guiding them in important life steps such as applying to university.
