Story

YHEC is entering a team of six runners into this year's Yorkshire Marathon, in our beautiful home city of York.  In addition, our colleague Heather is taking on the whole thing by herself!  We're all doing this for an amazing cause: OSCAR's Pediatric Brain Tumour Charity.

OSCAR's exists to support and care for children facing brain tumours, to raise awareness of children’s brain tumours and to fund new research to drive down diagnosis time, increase survival rate and improve children’s quality of life during and after treatment. It was set up in memory of Oscar Hughes from York but exists to serve any child, anywhere in the UK having to deal with life with a brain tumour.

Please donate to help us reach our fundraising target, and to help children with brain tumours have a better life.  Our company will also match whatever you contribute, so you will make double the difference!

About the charity

OSCAR's PBTC was set up in memory of Oscar Hughes, a 9-year-old who died of a brain tumour in 2014. His journey was heartbreaking yet inspiring. OSCAR's aims to provide support and care to children with brain tumours, raise awareness to help diagnosis and fund research into better treatments.
