Sleep Easy · 22 March 2019

On a night in March a group of brave people in Sussex and Surrey will give up the comfort of their beds and sleep out under the stars to raise money to change young lives.

Story

Every year YMCA DownsLink Group provides over 920 young people at risk of homelessness a safe place to live. YMCA Guildford is part of YMCA DownsLink and manages a 34 bedroom Foyer accommodation in the town housing some of Guildford and Surrey's most vulnerable young people who would be homeless without this accommodation option.

YMCA Guildford supported housing is much more than just a place to sleep. It offers support and opportunities so that local young people can achieve their full potential. YMCA Guildford's aim is that all young people can belong, contribute and thrive. All money raised from Sleep Easy 2019 will be used to change young lives through a range of activities developed to support our most vulnerable young people become independent as well as offering Life Change Fund grant for young people to access. This could be by purchasing interview clothes or course materials, funding meaningful activities, or buying a bike so a young person can take up a work opportunity.
