Give a Gift to Yorkhill Hospital this Christmas!
Every year, Yorkhill Children’s Foundation grants hundreds of thousands of pounds to buy medical equipment to give sick children at Yorkhill Hospital and related facilities the very best care that they can receive. From scanners to incubators, from monitors to treadmills, each piece of equipment makes a vital difference to the treatment and recovery of Scotland’s sick children in Yorkhill, the country’s largest children’s hospital.
This Christmas we are asking you and your colleagues to help us to give a very special Christmas present to some of the children at Yorkhill Hospital who are most unwell.
At the Yorkhill Dinner on 10 November, we raised an amazing £110,000 towards the purchase of a state-of-the art microscope for Yorkhill Hospital’s new paediatric neurosurgery department. The microscope will be used by highly skilled specialist surgeons who will operate on 200 children every year, treating sometimes life-threatening conditions of the brain and spine, as well as craniofacial abnormalities including tumours, injuries and malformations. Designed to deliver highly magnified and illuminated images of children’s delicate brains and spinal cords, the microscope helps to minimise the chance of damage during surgery.
The microscope costs £166,000 so we are nearly there. This is where you can help.
Children at Yorkhill hospital are very fortunate in that they already receive so many Christmas presents. This year we would like Scotland’s business community to join together to give a unique present to Yorkhill Hospital. Please watch the short film about this life-changing equipment and a little girl called Rachel whose life was saved by a similar microscope, and to make a donation to help us reach our target.
Your donation will help us to provide neurosurgeons at Yorkhill Hospital with the very best tools available to them at a time when safety and precision is most critical. Most importantly, it will give children with neurological conditions who are treated at Yorkhill Hospital the very best possible chance of survival.
This Christmas, rather than buying individual presents for Yorkhill’s patients, why not combine your efforts and help to buy a present to Yorkhill Hospital, helping Yorkhill Children’s Foundation to provide this vital piece of equipment and helping to save children’s lives.
Many thanks for your support.
