The #2YORKS, operational tour of Afghanistan is coming to an end and in an attempt to raise awareness and funds for the Yorkshire Air Ambulance (YAA) #yorkshireairambulance, I will be attempting The Yorkshire Dales #yorkshiredalesnationalpark - Afghanistan Challenge, where I'll run 160 km over 3 days from the confines of Hamid Karzai International Airport (HKIA(N)), Afghanistan.

The YAA is an independent charity providing a lifesaving rapid response emergency service to 5 million people across the whole of Yorkshire. To keep both of the Air Ambulances maintained and in the air, they need to raise £12,000 every single day, which is the equivalent of £4.4m a year. The generosity that they receive really is the life blood of the Charity.

The Charity industry has suffered terribly since the Coronavirus #coronavirus situation gripped the UK, and the YAA is not immune to this. So far, the YAA have seen a deficit of around £420,000 for events cancelled between now and the end of summer.
