Yorkshire Three Peaks -Saturday · 26 June 2021 ·

Conquer these summits in one day surrounded by people who are trekking for loved ones, and raise money so together we can find a cure.

Story

On the very weekend that nightclubs in England are expected to be allowed to reopen, I've decided to go for a walk instead. Pretty much a marathon... via the peaks of 3 mountains in the Yorkshire Dales. It's a crazy idea, surely?! I’ve done a similar length walk once before, and was absolutely exhausted. That time, it was all flat, with not a peak in sight.

It's all in aid of Alzheimer's Society. They fund research to find a cure for dementia, and in the meantime, they provide practical support to those living with it.

As a family, we lost Auntie Joan (my step-step-great-grandmother) in November 2019. As we were - geographically - her closest relatives, we co-ordinated all of her care. I can't really imagine what it would have been like through the pandemic. For loads of others, Alzheimer’s Society stepped in and provided practical support: https://www.alzheimers.org.uk/about-us/how-your-money-helps.

Auntie Joan would have loved the adventure of walking the Yorkshire 3 Peaks, and the idea of helping people with practical support, and funding research.

I’d really appreciate if you could donate, and help make my crazy idea all worth it! Thank you x
