About The Challenge
Anyone who knows me, knows I love running. So I thought I would put my love of this to good use and raise some money for a much needed charity such as the Yorkshire Air Ambulance. The Yorkshire Air Ambulance relies completely on donations made to them. To keep the helicopter in the air it costs £12,000 every single day so any donation you make is much appreciated.
The challenge itself will start on the morning of the 27th August 2021 in Southport. From there the challenge will take my along the trans Pennine trail, through Liverpool, Manchester, over the Peak District through Sheffield, Rotherham, Doncaster and then on to Hornsea.
How Long Will It Take?- I have been reliably informed that some dedicated cyclist's can complete this 215 mile challenge in two days. Therefore I am aiming to complete it as close to this time as possible, however a third day maybe needed to finish the crawl into Hornsea.
Checking On My Progress- Over the last year I joined the Strava community and I quickly learnt that if you don't Strava it...it didn't happen. Therefore for the entire event you will be able to track my progress, via a GPS I will be carrying (more details to come).
What About Covid?- I know COVID!!! If it comes to the date and we are in another lock down (heaven forbid), depending on restrictions the challenge will still be on where ever possible. Even if this means running the distance over the two days doing countless laps of my local village.
