Hi everyone, just a very brief update on our adventure into Central Asia.
We left the UK on Friday 18th March and arrived in Tashkent on Thursday evening 7th April having completed over 5000 miles.Out of the 17 cars entering the rally only 12 were still running as we entered the final country, Uzbekistan. Our car was the first to enter Tashkent and we have attached a photograph taken outside the Radisson Hotel in Tashkent. The car ran very well throughout the Rally with just one tyre failure and an electrical fault the result of an alternator failure which was repaired during our time in Cappadocia,Turkey. Our route took us through France, Germany, Austria, Serbia, Bulgaria, Turkey, Georgia, Azerbaijan,across the Caspian Sea into Terkmenistan and finally into Uzbekistan.
We thank all our sponsors and supporters of our charity Alzheimer's (we have raised approximately between £7,000 and £8,000 with more to come) and will be giving you all a very much more comprehensive report on our journey plus progress toward our fundraising goal of £10K within the next week so watch this space! .
