This spring we are encouraging expectant mums and mothers to improve their health, whilst supporting the health of women around the world. 800 women die every day from preventable causes related to pregnancy and childbirth. Take on this challenge.

Story

We are completing the Yorkshire 3 Peaks to support the charity campaign 'It Takes a Village' to make pregnancy and childbirth safe for every mother.

One of our group is expecting a baby and has already had so much support from our wonderful NHS. We can’t even imagine how scary it would be to give birth and have no medical support….the idea of birth is scary enough as it is!

The money we raise will be used to provide training for health professionals so they can spot danger signs in pregnancy, enable emergency transport for mothers in labour and support health facilities in hard to reach areas.

Please Give Generously!

£5 could help to provide a baby delivery kit for a Traditional Birth Attendant in Guatemala.

£15 could ensure enough fuel for an ambulance to get women to hospital in remote parts of Ethiopia, Kenya and Somaliland.

£20 - could provide medical staff with support and training to implement quarterly blood drives, ensuring no women need die from blood loss in childbirth.

£45 - could help to run a weekly radio show about maternal health, allowing illiterate women to receive the health education they need to keep themselves safe during pregnancy.
