Story
A group of 7 Your Worlders have decided in May 2023, they will attempt the three peaks challenge to raise not only money for SNAP, an Essex-based learning disability charity but also challenge themselves.
The National Three Peaks Challenge is an event in which participants attempt to climb the highest mountains of England, Scotland, and Wales within 24 hours!
Dan, Joe, and Chris have listed below why they are individually taking part:
Chris
I love seeing this charity's work with young people in my local area. Knowing they have recently lost a large part of their funding has given me extra motivation to sponsor SNAP – Raising money for a great charity while training to get in shape for the peaks is a no-brainer!
Joe
A charity close to my heart due to having a sister with learning difficulties.
Daniel
It's a great personal challenge and a huge life achievement, but more importantly, it's a huge motivator to dedicate the time to help a worthy local cause.
Ryan
The three peaks challenge is an ultimatum I've set for myself in order to force me to get into shape and take my health more seriously. I love to challenge myself and push myself to greater heights, and I've always wanted to climb a mountain, so why not the three? The cherry on top is that it's for a great cause.
The Charity
SNAP – Special Needs And Parents – is an Essex charity for families with children and young people who have any special needs or disabilities. SNAP aims to inform, encourage and support parents and carers so that they can grow in strength and knowledge and become better equipped to give the best possible help to their children.
