Story
بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم
Verily to Allah we belong, and to Allah we shall return.
The loss of a loved one is never easy. There are no words which adequately describe the immense feeling of loss that engulfs those of us left behind. While the hearts grieve and the eyes are tearful, we say only that which pleases the Most Merciful.
Yusuf Ahmed Bobat was a father, a grandfather, a great-grandfather, an uncle and a friend to not only his own kin, but everyone he ever encountered. He was a man who lived for others, caring more about their welfare than his own. He lived for his children, and their children, making sacrifices in his own life for the sake of those around him. He passed into the mercy of Allah at fajr time on 9 November 2021, surrounded by his family.
Our father was a simple man. His own belongings were few in number, but his reach was felt across the globe. Throughout his life, he sponsored widows and orphans in their everyday lives, provided education for the needy, gifted the precious gift of water, and so very much more.
Over the last few days, as a family we have been touched by countless stories from people far and wide of how our father impacted upon their lives, and the lives of their loved ones. His reward for that is with His Lord.
We hope to continue our father’s legacy by supporting the same causes that he supported, and impacting upon the lives of the less fortunate, which, coming from humble beginnings himself, he cared so deeply about. The project aims inshaAllah to build a masjid, a water well and to sponsor orphans and widows, in collaboration with Ummah Welfare Trust.
Your support in this effort means the world to us.
JazakumAllah khayra.
