Pakistan has the highest number of out-of-school children in South Asia and the second highest in the world. Currently, there are 25 million children in Pakistan ages 5-16 who don't attend school. 55% of those out of school children are girls.
Mercy-USA for Aid and Development has built and supports a secondary school in rural Pakistan. In addition to classrooms, the school has a computer lab and two science labs.
The Mercy-USA secondary school with their partner, The Citizens Foundation provides excellent academic instruction to both boys and girls from low-income households nearby the school. The financial aid system ensures that quality education is affordable for every student. They strive to level the enrollment between boys and girls through community outreach.
Prophet Muhammad said, "When a person dies, his deeds are cut off except for three: Continuing charity, knowledge that others benefited from, and a righteous son who supplicates for him."
