Update: We started, and finished (!) the half marathon yesterday, our time roughly 2hrs and 23 mins, which we are very chuffed with!  Was hard going for the last 3/4 miles and we are seriously aching today! 

Still, we must be mad, because we are thinking of doing both the fun run with the kids next year, with the marathon afterwards!!

We had a great day, and must say that it was well organised, with lots of public support for the runners!

Initially I thought of sponsoring a conservation/environmental website, as this is what I believe in and that we need to all live more sustainably with the planet and its' resources.  But I also have children, and know of the importance of bringing them up so they feel secure, loved and have a firm footing on the ladder of life.  If we can help families through trying times, then I believe we have a better chance of educating our future generations so we can have many a great scientist, environmentalist and conservationalist contributing to future environmental laws by investing in society's future now!
