Story
March the 13th 2023 less than 2 years after being diagnosed with Stage 4 cancer (liver, lungs and bowel) my cousins wife, the mum to two young & kind children (aged 4 & 10 years old) and someone who I considered to be family was given her angel wings.
Cancer is cruel and it now affects 1 in 2 people. It’s a disease that there should be a cure for and we all hope that one day it will be solved.
I know as Mich being the wife of my cousin as well as speaking with Daniel throughout this, the damaging effect it has not just on love ones but the person actually dealing with the cancer itself - chemotherapy, hair loss, weight loss, dietary requirements practically changing on a day to day basis, cost of living adding to the stress and torment of having to cope with this awful disease and more.
This is why I have chosen bowel cancer as it is something that was really close to home and I believe we can make a big change by continuing to fund medicine and other campaigns/trials to finally get the correct aid and hopefully extend lives further for those living with this disease.
Now, with the ongoing cost of living crisis and pressure on the NHS, it is becoming more difficult for people with cancer to focus on just recovery alone - they need as much support as possible as we all know prices in general are going up and cancer patients are having appointments pushed back due to the lack of funding towards our hospitals.
Please if you can donate, give what you can I know it’ll be greatly appreciated and it’ll help the treatment process be less daunting with people knowing that there’s been that support given to charities via ourselves by putting our hands in our pockets and doing what we can to contribute.
Thank you on behalf of myself, my cousin Daniel and his two kids Marc & Ella.
