We are a friend to the homeless, the vulnerably housed, the socially isolated, those living with addiction, and those struggling with mental health difficulties. We help them so that they can get their lives back on track.

Story

The Way Ahead Project is a local charity, serving the homeless and vulnerably housed community in Leamington Spa and South Warwickshire for over twenty years. We work with rough sleepers, sofa surfers and anyone who struggles to keep their own home. We offer practical advice and long-term support that helps address the underlying causes of homelessness so that some of the most vulnerable members of our society can escape the cycles of poverty, addiction, mental illness and destructive relationships. Although we are part of The Salvation Army, the people we help are of all faiths and none. We have kept our doors open throughout the pandemic. We have provided food in lunch bags, takeaway containers, emergency parcels and, more recently, at our pop-up café. We have engaged with those who need us on doorsteps, over the phone, at our front door and on a one-to-one basis in our office so that trusted relationships have been maintained and problems sorted before they spiral out of con
